Awarded a City of Toronto Urban Design Award of Excellence in 2015, thinc design worked with the local Councillor, community representatives and various City departments to develop a vision that reinvigorates this downtown park.

Some of the key features of the park include fun geometric paving, a central performance stage, feature colour changing LED lighting, restoration of an architectural wall, custom metal screens and a new bosque of canopy trees in a soil cell system.

Special consideration was required regarding prservation of existing features, night time lighting / safety, use of high-end and durable materials, protection and incorporation of existing trees into the design, passive irrigation/stormwater management and providing adequate soil volumes for trees.

To complete the project in time for World Pride 2014 the team prepared the contract documents over a six week period to ensure the project could be tendered in the spring of 2013.
