Cobourg Waterfront User Needs Assessment + Detailed Design

thinc design worked with Mehak Kelly & Associates, RFA planning Consultant Inc. and Plan B Natural Heritage to develop an implementation plan for Cobourg’s waterfront. Through an extensive community consultation process, stakeholder interviews, and resident and business surveys the community’s vision for the waterfront is being confirmed and refined into a series of projects and plans.
Key issues to be addressed in the final plan include future plans for the municipality’s marina, municipal campground, impact of tourism, boat storage, upgraded pier and park spaces, and naturalization of the west beach and headland. Opportunities to better connect the downtown to the waterfront are also being explored.
The final report will include details on over 80 initiatives organized into projects and detailed plans for implementation over the next twenty five years.
