Morningside Park is a 241 ha (596.7 ac) community park in the east end of Toronto. It is primarily a passive park which attracts visitors from across Toronto. It is a popular destination for group picnicking, cycling and hiking. Its prominent feature is the Highland Creek River Valley which has formed the eroded cliffs, steep forested hillsides, wetlands, and small streams found throughout the park. It is also habitat for some regionally rare plant species which has contributed towards the park’s designation as an Environmentally Significant Area within the City of Toronto with portions of the park also Provincially designated as an ESA.
