Located in west-end Toronto’s Parkdale neighborhood, Parkdale Collegiate Institute is a Toronto District School Board public high school serving over six hundred students. The institution dates back to the late 19thcentury, and is the site of an important civic and recreational space for the diverse community surrounding it.
Thinc design was commissioned to design a master plan for the school grounds with the purpose of upgrading some of the existing features to comply with accessibility standards while animating other areas of the site with recreation and educational components. Multi-use courts, outdoor classrooms, upper and lower level plazas, and additional seating are some of the elements incorporated into the design.
