thinc design collaborated with sustainable trails expert Daniel Scott to prepare a conceptual design for the Ridge Trail in the Don Valley. This 1.8 km natural surface trail between Crothers Woods and E.T. Seton Park is a popular destination for mountain bikers.
The project was focussed on improved connections between the Ridge Trail and the community of Thorncliffe to the north, protection of the park’s diverse natural features, improved safety and an improved trail alignment that considers access, technical trail features, and other trail amenities.
The study involved community and stakeholder consultation, site reconnaissance, GPS and GIS mapping, concept design, cost estimating and preparation of a master plan report to inform future detailed design.
