Located in Parkdale, one of Toronto’s most vibrant and eclectic neighbourhoods, thinc design was retained to provide a full scope of landscape architectural services ranging from preliminary conceptual design to design implementation.
Common themes throughout the park include increased seating opportunities, enhanced plantings, protection and incorporation of existing trees and upgraded surfaces. The strong central pathway is the main artery for the park.
Elements included in the active areas of the site include several pieces of junior and intermediate play equipment in a redesigned playground, distinct skateboard features, square-cut limestone seatwalls, a basketball court and the integration of an existing wading pool.
Services provided as part of this project included: public consultation, site investigation, concept and detail design drawings, construction drawings, specifications, contract documents and contract administration/ project close-out services. The updated park was reopened to the public in the summer of 2014.
