thinc design worked with the City of Toronto on Ranleigh Park. The site was home to a church that had been removed, and the community and the City saw an opportunity to add green space to the neighbourhood. Next to the school, the park extends its uses and promotes community interaction.
The park includes a large open lawn, seating and gathering areas with a dining table, games tables, benches and seatwalls, a shade structure, adult fitness equipment, a labyrinth, demonstration garden beds, perennial planting beds and a connecting pathway.
Because of the site's prior use, it required environmental remediation to remove contaminated soil left from the demolished church. The park was substantially completed in fall 2021.
